LILY & MAY might sound like two people, but it’s just me, Lily Mayfield. The name comes from my full name, and the brand is a true reflection of who I am.
Growing up, I watched my parents run small businesses and always knew I wanted something of my own. I started working at 12, saving up to buy craft supplies. I tried everything—from DIY lip scrubs and concrete candle holders to running a blog (yes, Life as Lily still exists). Eventually, I started baking polymer clay earrings in the oven and selling them to neighbours. Quality has always been at the core.
During a day out in Noosa, a shop manager overheard me talking about my jewelry and asked to stock it over Christmas. That was the moment everything changed. I fell in love with the creative process—designing, styling, making, and marketing pieces that tell a story.
For the last 10 years, I’ve handmade every single piece myself. I’ve spent countless hours stringing tiny bead after bead at home, building this brand with my own two hands.
With the guidance of Chloe Tozer, founder of CLO Studios and an early mentor, the brand grew quickly. I now stock LILY & MAY in beautiful stores across the Sunshine Coast, Mallorca, and along the Great Ocean Road.
My collections are inspired by my travels and deep connection to the ocean. I grew up between Lorne and Noosa, where surfing, swimming, and shell collecting filled my days. That coastal lifestyle continues to influence everything I create.
